THE DEVELOPMENT COURT

Open year-round in Middletown

Our indoor Development Court is open now and bookable by the hour, rain, shine, or Rhode Island winter. It’s a purpose-built indoor court designed for learning, skill development, and great play, and the easiest way to get into the sport on Aquidneck Island, whether you’ve been playing for years or have never picked up a paddle.

Think of it as a Coach’s Court. The ceiling sits a little lower than a regulation tournament court. It rewards smarter shot selection, control, and placement, and makes it an ideal place to build fundamentals and match awareness. For the vast majority of shots and rallies, you’ve got the full court to work with.

Lessons and clinics run weekly for new and developing players. Reservations run through the same system we use for pickleball, so one account covers everything. Reach out and we’ll get you on the court.

OUTDOOR COURTS

The first in Newport County

We’re building Aquidneck Island’s first outdoor padel courts on our 2.75-acre Middletown campus. It’s a beautiful coastal setting, centrally located between Providence and the Cape, and an easy trip for players coming up from Boston, New York, and Philadelphia for the summer.

  • Dedicated turf and hardscape area for post-game hangs and events
  • Leagues, tournaments, and social play all season long
  • Same app, same reservation system as pickleball and the indoor court

WHAT IS PADEL?

Tennis meets squash, on a smaller court

Padel is a doubles racquet sport played on an enclosed court roughly one-third the size of a tennis court. It uses solid paddles (no strings) and lower-pressure tennis balls, which makes it easy for players of any age or skill level to pick up.

  • Social by design. Doubles-only format keeps everyone in the point.
  • Easy to learn. Most people are rallying within their first session.
  • Easier on joints than tennis, with a great cardio workout.
